ahh summer, the perfect time to start being and stop doing!

in the bigger scheme of things the universe is not asking us to do something, the universe is asking us to be something. and that’s a whole different thing.

be the one who enjoys a long, languid summer day.  be the one who spends time in nature walking, biking, paddle boarding, swimming, whatever it is that makes your heart joyful.  be the one who experiences joy! and then spreads that joy as they make their way in the world.

when we experience or feel joy it radiates like the sun's rays.  it warms, infuses, and quite possibly energizes those who come under its gaze.  when you are joyful your smile, your kindness, your je ne sais quoi is palpable.  it is felt by those who you interact with or even pass by on the street, in a store, or at a restaurant.

in the wisdom philosophy of yoga, we understand that practicing yoga, doing our own practice, is an act of service for others.  how, you may ask?  when we are the best versions of ourselves (at any given moment), we are spreading, exchanging, giving this to others as we interact with them. we quite literally have lit our lamp and thus bring that light into the world as we move through it.

so, I guess you could say yogis are lit! 👊

(my sons are rolling their eyes at me)

let this summer be the summer you become something! and enjoy it! hey, it's all for the greater good, isn't it?! be someone who does not stress about completing a list of "to dos."  unless, of course, the list of to dos is enjoying your summer days.

light your lamp & you light the world
