COURSE OVERVIEW:
In AYS 2, you will learn the technical aspects of the bio-pscyho-spiritual connections in Ayurveda. Our primary focus will be on the architecture of the mind, its energies (gunas), and the body-mind’s vital essences (prana, tejas, ojas). We’ll dig deep into asana, pranayama, and meditation from the sub-dosha perspective of Ayurveda. Once you have paid Moondog Yoga for Session II we will provide you with a code that will allow you to access the course on Yoga International.
Upon completion of AYS 2, the student will understand the following concepts:
The architecture of the mind and its energies or gunas (sattva, rajas, tamas)
The subtle essences of the doshas (ojas, tejas, and prana) and their manifestation in the body
Creating practices to help maintain balance during seasonal changes
The key practices to address vata, pitta, and kapha imbalance
Sub-doshas (knowledge is a pre-requisite for AHC Grad School)
PREREQUISITES
For personal practitioners (non-certification) — none
For certification tract – 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified yoga teacher (or currently enrolled)
HOMEWORK:
Complete open-ended questionnaire as your take-home test
Additional assignments to work on home yoga practices to balance the doshas (individual dinacharya)
Honing daily routine, creating specificity to the usefulness of practices for you as an individual.
Using online support (YogaInternational.com) to practice dosha balancing.
