legacy

True wealth is not measured in money or status or power. It is measured in the legacy we leave behind for those we love and those we inspire.

follow me here; i am going to thread two ideas together

well, it's been a minute, as we say these days. since i last wrote to you, my mother-in-law passed. this quote could not express her more. the legacy she leaves behind is immense and filled with joy, love, and--yes--delicious food! she was 100% Italian, after all. the world is and will continue to be a better place because she lived, she loved, and she shared that love. she taught, showed, and gave her love in big and small ways to our family, and her friends and neighbors.

the new year has begun. contrary to our "get it done" culture, now isn't a time for pushing forward. now is a time to consider. winter is the season the earth, the animals, and plants are resting (some even hibernating), restoring, preparing for the "bloom" of spring. it's the same of us too. take the time in the short days of light and consider: what worked for you last year? what didn't? what will you bring forward? what will you let go?

here's the tie in--consider: what do you want to leave behind? what is the measure of your true wealth? how do you want to increase that wealth in the coming year? who inspires you? how do your interactions with others inspire them?

what will your legacy be?
